Warzone 2.0 Is Back With Gulag: Everything You Need To Know About The New Mechanics

How does the Gulag work in Warzone 2?

Alongside the debut of Season 1 of the 19th instalment in the Call of Duty (COD) series, Modern Warfare 2, the official release of Call of Duty Warzone 2 is scheduled for the 16th of November.

Activision and Infinity Ward invited players to Al Mazrah, the new map in the game. On this new version of the free-to-play battle royale mode, players will go to the urban core and the rural outskirts of the Republic of Adal.

The publisher has made it clear that Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has been designed from the ground up to be the pinnacle of all Battle Royale competitions. In addition, Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is going to undergo a number of substantial adjustments, one of which is a Gulag system.

Warzone 2 Gulag Working Details

How does the new Gulag system work?

This time around, the Gulag will be a battle for survival between two teams of two players each. You and the other member of your team will be randomly partnered up to take on the other team.

Every player will start the game with the same loadout, which, according to Activision, will consist of a pistol or shotgun, a fatal grenade, and a tactical grenade, with more equipment spawning in the middle of the area.

A second opportunity to return to Al Mazrah will become available to you and your ally if you and your temporary comrade are successful in eliminating the hostile duo.

A hostile artificial intelligence called as the Jailer will make an appearance during a gulag battle, which will be an even bigger shock. If the Jailer can be vanquished, then the four prisoners will be released and sent back to the battleground.

As a result, you will be required to make a challenging choice: either attempt to cooperate with the other players in order to eliminate the Jailer, or engage in a gunfight with the other two players.

When the previous episode of Warzone was played, if the battle continued past the allotted amount of time, the gulag would stay open for longer than usual.

However, if at the end of the allotted period no team nor the Jailer has been ousted, the gulag lost will be distributed evenly among the four participants.

The most significant alteration to the Warzone 2 Gulag is an increase in the total number of players. What was once a straightforward one-on-one battle has been transformed into a game centred on teams, and in order to compete for a chance to stay alive, you will be teamed up with a random partner.

The playing area has been enlarged to accommodate four teams of two players each, and there is now loot strewn all over the arena floor. You will begin the match with either a pistol or a shotgun, a fatal grenade, and a tactical grenade; however, you will have the opportunity to pick up more weapons closer to the arena’s centre.

If you put your fighting talents to the test and eliminate both of your foes in the Warzone 2 Gulag, you will be able to return to the battle.

The choice now exists for all four players between competing with one another or banding together to battle the Jailer, a common foe.

One AI, known as the Jailer, will control all of the cells in the Warzone 2 Gulag system. The Jailer, which has a lot of health and a mini-gun that can be fired by firing the initial rounds, can be slain, and if it is killed, all four players can go back to Al Mazrah. If you fail, you all lose.

No extra time is added. As a result, there are many more things to consider in the Warzone 2 Gulag, which also presents a Goldenballs-style steal or divide morality test. Even though you’re all battling the Jailer, who is to guarantee that you’re safe from opposition?

Even while it is significantly more sophisticated than the 1v1 gun and run strategy that was developed in Verdansk, the Gulag still offers a once-per-game option to redeploy without needing to be bought back.

How To Win Gulag?

You should try to barter with the opposition side using proximity chat as one of your first strategies. Essentially, you can tell them to wait until the Jailer appears so that you can all kill the AI at once and rejoin the game.

You’ll need a backup strategy because, of course, it won’t always work. We advise waiting to try to get the rare loot in the middle of the map until you have killed an enemy player.

The other team can quickly take you out, thus it’s extremely hazardous. Before deciding to go after greater loot, weaken the other squad by using your beginning pistol or shotgun and your grenades, or simply kill them.

Try to use the pillars on the side of the map to defend yourself from the opposing team’s attack. These offer excellent cover and let you fire a few shots at the opposition.

Other than that, you could flank around the other side of the battlefield to get behind both of the opponents while your partner keeps them off-balance on one side. The key to success in the new Gulag may be effective team communication. To survive the battle, you and them must cooperate.
