The family of the late running back for the Denver Broncos and Super Bowl champion revealed his death in a message posted on his Instagram account.

Our family is grieved to share the news of the passing of Ronnie K. Hillman Jr., son, brother, and father. Ronnie passed away today surrounded by his loved ones, his family said in a statement.

The statement continued: “We as the family, appreciate the prayers and kind words that have already been expressed. We ask that you would give us time to process our feelings as we prepare to lay our precious RJ to rest.”

After playing for six years in the National Football League, Ronnie Hillman reportedly had a net worth of $1.5 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Ronnie was born in Long Beach in 1991, and he excelled in football while attending La Habra High School. Ronnie’s high school years were spent in La Habra. While he was still in school, he participated in the Snoop Lion’s Snoop Youth football league.

In 2008, he was a key contributor to the success of his high school football team, which earned the CIF Southern Section Southwest Division championship.

Ronnie was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the NFL draught in 2012 after spending four years playing collegiate football at San Diego State University. During his stint with the Broncos, he rushed for a total of 1,478 yards and scored 15 touchdowns, all of which contributed to the team’s victory in Super Bowl 50.

In July of 2017, he signed a contract to play with the Dallas Cowboys, however he was cut loose from the organisation in September of that same year.

After being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer known as renal medullary carcinoma earlier this week, Ronnie was transferred to the care of a hospice facility so that he may get end-of-life treatment.

His family disclosed to TMZ on Tuesday (December 20, 2022) that Ronnie had been given a diagnosis of the illness in August 2022 and had subsequently received treatment for it.

His family wrote in a message on Instagram that the condition is a “rare yet highly aggressive neoplastic form of cancer that primarily strikes young African Americans with sickle cell trait.” They went on to say that he was diagnosed with the illness while he was in his early 20s.

On Wednesday, December 21, the running back who won the Super Bowl lost his battle with cancer.

On social media, people have been pouring out their condolences and paying tribute to the NFL star who passed away, and many have said prayers for his family.

One of the tributes that appeared below his family’s statement read, “Fought hard!” “I will be eternally thankful to be able to call you my brother. Fly high and keep an eye out for us!

A eulogy was posted on Twitter with the following inscription: “To my mate @MrHillman2U words can’t explain the grief I have right now. If I had known that this was going to be our final conversation, I definitely would have said a lot more. I am grateful to you for being steady and remaining ten toes down. Take it easy, family”

Someone else penned the following words in yet another tribute: “So tragic, and so very young.” My heart breaks for him as well as his loved ones and friends. Ronnie Hillman, you will be missed by all of us.

Hillman was able to prove his worthiness for the starting position in the first game of the season, which was played against the Baltimore Ravens. In that game, Hillman had four runs for 15 yards and two catches for 27 yards. He scored a touchdown on the ground on September 23 when the Oakland Raiders were his opponent.

Hillman took the carry, but he ended up fumbling, and the Colts were able to recover.
