Early Life
Wolfgang Van Halen was born in Santa Monica, California on March 16, 1991, as the only child of guitarist Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the famous composer, inspired his name. From the start, his father and uncle Alex had an undeniable influence on his life and career path.
The young Van Halen began drumming at the age of nine, inspired by Alex, who played in his father’s band. His father gave him his first drum set for his tenth birthday. Later, the young Van Halen began to play guitar, bass, and keyboards. Career
Wolfgang began his musical career on the drums. Wolfgang attempted to play the drums occasionally while accompanying his father on Van Halen performances. He began playing the drums at the age of nine. He mostly taught himself to play the instrument, but he also received some instruction from his uncle, Alex, who was also a member of his father’s band.
Wolfgang’s father gave him a drum kit for his tenth birthday. He later learned to play the keyboard as well. Beginning in 2004, he began performing with Van Halen, playing the guitar alongside his father. In 2006, he took over as the band’s bassist after replacing guitarist Michael Anthony.
